{i am on lookbook now}

My site just keeps expanding! As i was trying to do earlier, I really wanted to start doing more fashion posts. You can see that has failed so far. I plan to start picking that up more next year due only to the fact that i like winter clothes more than summer clothes. If there is a feature that you would like to see here or want to see re-apear, let me know! I love to hear feedback, or if you want to be featured on my blog! :)
I added the lookbook widget to the side of my blog if you want to check it out!

P.S. the promised beach posts are coming soon!

{my trip to the farmers market}

Saturday, my mom and I went to the farmers market in Kirby. I love the farmers market, the atomosphere is great, the people are nice and everything is so healthy! Being surrounded by vegetables and fruit really makes this girl happy. Someday I am going to buy all of my fruit/vegetables from a farmers market (where ever i am living at that point). I love taking pictures of all of the vegetables because the colors are so vibrant, such good subjects. They also take direction so well.
Spending the day with my mom was also nice. We always have a good time.

{graduation breakfast}

Since i am still blogging events that happened over a week ago, heres a pretty important one: Graduation. This post is more about the breakfast/family bonding time, but the act of graduating was pretty exciting I must say! On Sunday morning before my 2 o clock graduation my family and I went out to IHOP to celebrate! We were also celebrating 2 very important birthdays, My Mimi's and my sister's :) HAPPY LATE BIRTHDAY TO YOU BOTH. Well everyone knows that you have to get pancakes at IHOP and i got the most delicious blueberry whole grain pancakes. So noms. No worries, there will be a picture. Do I ever fail you on food pictures?

After brunch, I headed over to pick up my friends for graduation. I would say it was bittersweet, but actually it was just sweet, no bitterness here. I am finally done, no looking back. Graduation did make me think a lot about Dr. Suess though. He has such inspirational quotes.

{summerfest day 2}

And as promised, Day 2! Day two was crazy actually. I graduated at 4ish, rushed out to my car, had my friends hop in and we were off. Neon Indian was playing at 6 and we HAD to be there by then. We stopped off at a Walgreens to get some food and change out of our grad clothes/robes. How great would that have been if we had worn our robes to the festival? Actually, considering how some people dressed, it wouldn't be much of a change. Anyways, we got to the park about 5 min before Neon Indian came on and we waiting anxiously pushing our way up to the front. People were surprisingly nice and let us through :) Neon Indian played and it was so so amazing! One of the best shows I have seen. Then we moved on to Cut Copy which was on the stage down the street. They too where AMAZING. Another awesome show. Then we had awhile to wait before the headline, Weezer, came on. I, personally, was not excited for the Weezer show. I have never been a big fan, but they put on such an awesome show and I legit did not stop dancing or moving until the end. So all in all it was a great weekend. I graduated high school and went to a music festival? Such a win. Plus I got to spend it with my very best of friends which makes everything enjoyable.

And sorry for the small amount of pics, but i did not bring my camera because of the storm. So these wonderful pictures were taken my by friend camille.

{summerfest day 1}

Finally, i have time to post my summerfest experience! Well here it goes, this is just day one, another post will have day two adventures! After my grad party, my friend Katelin and I drove downtown to Eleanor Tinsley Park. We get there mid afternoon so it was so hot. Like pouring sweat, i need ice all over me, get me in a pool kind of hot. But thats what festivals are all about right? SNOWCONES. Ok, not really, they are more about the music but being with sweaty people (being in close contact none the less) really brings people together. There weren't too many bands I wanted to see on Saturday but the whole atmosphere of the festival is fun. So many like minded people who enjoy the same things as you! So wonderful :)

We ended up watching Beirut and Tobacco and another random band that I can't remember the name of. But all the bands we saw had such talent, so if you haven't heard either of them check them out! Beirut is more calming while Tobacco is great dance/workout music. I definitely like concerts where I can just dance around and feel the music. Calm concerts aren't as much fun to me.

Sorry for all the pictures, I just had so many to share with you! Day two will be much less picture intensive. We also danced with "Happy" who is basically the summerfest mascot. He is the most wonderful, and amazingly happy guy. He just hugs everyone and loves being around people and the music. Plus the car at the top is part of an exhibit i guess. They had several art cars out and about throughout the festival. I personally liked that one! Anyone at a good festival now, hint Bonnaroo hint?? If anyone reading this is at/ reads this after Bonnaroo PLEASE TELL ME ALL ABOUT IT.

{grad party}

Sorry I have been M.I.A. lately. My sister came into town, we had my grad party, i went to a music festival (post on that coming soon), i graduated, went back to the festival and had to throw sleep in there somewhere. But anyways, my whole family came into town for my graduation which was so awesome :) I love seeing all of them! My grad party was a great success, we had about 100 people come. SO MUCH MINGLING TO BE DONE. It was so much fun though seeing all of my friends and adults that have had a huge impact on my life. They were all so sweet to stop by and give me a hug. I am only uploading a few pictures from the millions we took.

At the party my mom and I had made a lot of food (well mainly her, but i helped with the cake balls and hummus, that counts right?). We also decorated quite a lot. We are party people in the Withers family. We love to decorate. I really think that's half the fun of having a party. Straight after the party ended, a few friends and I headed off to FP Summerfest! Which was so great, so look forward to that post!

Aren't those flowers cool?? My sister's awesome boyfriend had them sent to me, with a sweet note attached about how I had finished my O.W.L.S. Any Harry Potter Fans out there? He put a color changing spell on them. Quite cool. The rest of the pictures are just of decorations and friends and food! What parties are all about :)

{roasted red pepper hummus}

After my last post, my mom and I decided we should prepare more food for the party. Trying out a new recipie at 10:30 isn't exactly the best idea. My mom has been wanting to try to make hummus instead of buy it, save money etc.. So we whip out the chick peas, spices and olive oil and get to work. Problem, we have no food processor (which is basically stated in most recipies). A blender will work just fine, right? WRONG. Blenders do nothing. I joke around with my mom saying that Walmart is 24 hours and to my surprise she says, LETS GO. Obviously she really wanted to finish that hummus. To de-stress, I put on "I Will Learn To Love Again" by Kaci on in the car and we have a car dancing/ singing sesh that was much needed. That song is always perfect to listen to. Go ahead, click it, you know you want to. We are on a mission for a food processor and nothing will stop us. By the way, I am actually really excited about this food processor because i love love love to cook and have been wanting one for quite awhile. (I have been telling my mom this for a while, :) love you mom!
Once we got back home, we got to making the hummus. We made 3 batches, which filled a whole popcorn bowl. SO MUCH HUMMUS. Anyone want to come over and have some? So good.
Anyways, I had a lot of fun :)

i love this lady. she's pretty cool :)

And for those of you who like to cook, I will post the recipie tomorrow! Too tired to post it tonight.

P.S. still working on getting the pictures to fit correctly. ugh so annoying.

{grad party prep}

O the joys of preparing for a party. I really like planning and hosting the party, but i hate getting everything prepared. Today, my mom and I made the cake pops (well, i made them, we covered them in chocolate and sprinkles). We did about 80 of them. It took quite awhile and they started to not fit back in the fridge so we took a break :) Later, we finished making the pops and i finished making my grad gifts for friends and it was a good time.

Afterwards, my parents and I went to a couple of grad parties for my friends Brandon and Tori, who I have known for a very long time! Brandon's picture has appeared on here once or twice.

All in all it was a good day.
Sorry for the lack of pictures, i am working on it but i really suck with HTML and need help! The pictures won't shrink so I can't put them on. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO WORK WITH HTML?? I am also looking to revamp the look of my blog so if you do comment on this page and we can chat! Thanks!

{what i'm listening to}

I just found out about this band Seryn. O boy are my ears happy. They have such a beautiful sound, not quite sure what to compare it to yet but i'm sure I will think of something after listening to them long. They are an indie folk band from Texas, that's right represent the Lone Star state! Bands like this make me proud of where I live! Hear-Ya has a really good album review on their album. I would recommend buying this album on itunes and supporting the up and coming band. I can't wait to hear more from them and really hope they come on tour, or maybe see this post!
This is "River Song" off their album This Is Where We Are. Enjoy!

{what i wore}

I have been reading so many fashion blogs lately, and I really want to start doing a what I wore post because I have just been so inspired to dress up! So here it goes, I can't promise one every week or day but I sure will try! Plus, taking pictures of yourself is quite difficult so hopefully the pictures will get better. I really am trying to learn to use my camera more efficiently. Why else would I have a dslr then right? This is what i wore graduation practice edition! I have a 3 hour long grad practice today, then i go straight to work, then i come home and have SO much to do. It is a crazy day.
